Report-date coverage
June 20, 2012–July 08, 2026
Known gap: openFDA describes 2004-present coverage, but the current export has no report-date records in this interval.
Enforcement coverage uses report dates; product initiation dates can precede those bounds. Device-enrichment coverage uses FDA event_date_initiated.
Product dates, classifications, firms, and source wording remain attached to their individual rows.
Opening this dossier never hides products that did not match a prior timeline filter.

Reason for recall
Between September 7 thru September 29, 2016, consumer complaints led firm to believe that cans of Lite Sliced Peaches were mislabeled as they appeared to contain Fruit Cocktail in Heavy Syrup. The label on the can states Lite Sliced Peaches (Yellow cling peach in Extra Light Syrup) and the product inside contains Fruit Cocktail in Heavy Syrup. Fruit Cocktail contains cherries colored with carmine. FDA regulations requires carmine to be labeled due to its potential allergen status (21 CFR 73.100 (d)(2)).
